Stag do Types Unlocked: Which One Will You Choose

As if being the one appointed to plan the stag do wasn’t enough. Putting the guest list together, deciding on a destination, checking everyone’s schedules, picking the dates, booking activities… and so on, and so on. Once you start digging into the planning, you’ll realize there are plenty of directions you can take your party in. And that’s why we’re here today — to give you a list of stag do types, so you can pick the one that’s perfect for your upcoming weekend with the lads!

Groom or the gang?

Should you plan the party solely based on what the groom likes? While that might sound courteous at first, it could quickly become a total disaster. You want the whole group to have fun.

And that’s where it gets tricky. You’ll need to compromise at times. Our advice? Pick 2–3 types of parties from the list below that are guaranteed crowd-pleasers for the groom, and then take a step back to consider the rest of the group.

You need to land on a type that everyone’s at least okay with. Not everyone has to love it — but it should work for the majority.

Maybe send out a quick poll to the lads, asking them to tick off the party types they’d enjoy? You can use our list as a cheat sheet — and get your answers immediately! You can use Google Forms, or take advantage of WhatsApp’s built-in poll feature too!

Also, don’t forget to consider the budget and make sure you’re planning a trip everyone can actually afford. You might want to include a quick budget question in the poll, too — it’ll help avoid any awkward moments later.

From Action Hero to Sports Fanatic: The Many Types of Stag Do Parties

1. The Action Hero

Is your friend who’s getting married the kind of guy who’d say yes on the spot if someone offered him a bungee jump in, say, Thailand? Then you might want to go with the action hero style stag do. Think high-energy activities, adrenaline, and loads of fun.

You don’t just have to get the groom drunk — you can also get him physically drained and pumped full of excitement. That way, he’ll truly never forget the party you threw for him. And speaking of bungee jumping, the fake bungee jump is also the perfect way to give the groom an adrenaline rush—only for him to realize it’s all just a prank!

Check out these activities to please his competitive-ass soul.

2. The Beer Enthusiast

Beer activities are a much more relaxing way to go about your stag do. And if you’re headed to Prague, it’s basically compulsory to book at least one — even if it doesn’t end up being your whole theme. Why? Because Prague is the beer capital of the world!

So grab a pint of Plzeň or Staropramen and enjoy some of the best lagers this planet has ever seen. And don’t forget to dive deep into those “what’s marriage really like?” convos!

For a beer-fueled stag do, try these activities:

3. A Military Camp

Is the groom the kind of guy who always stands a bit too long at the museum displays (and sometimes throws in a surprise history lecture)? Bingo. This one’s for him.

Let him experience the kind of stuff that makes history come alive — because in Prague and beyond, that’s totally possible.

Here are some of our clients’ favorite military-style activities:

Prague shooting range experience with real or simulated firearms.

4. The Party Animal

Do we need to talk about this one?If you all feel like the best thing that could happen is getting blackout drunk a few nights in a row—go for it! It might be an unforgettable celebration you won’t remember. 😄 Nightlife, dancing, socializing… Prague is just perfect for that!

Put these activities on your list to make sure the party lasts all weekend!

5. The Sports Fanatic

If your soon-to-be-married lad has been on every school sports team and turns anything into a competition—whether you hand him a football, throw him a dart, or strap him to literally anything—you might as well turn your Prague weekend into your own mini Olympics. You’ll bond more than you thought possible—and hey, who says you can’t do shots as performance enhancers? Your stag do, your rules!

Let this be your mini Olympics lineup:

  • Prague axe throwing or the archery game for a fun and competitive game without the bruises.
  • Water sports like white-water rafting on Prague river are just what his adventurous soul will love.
  • Foot Darts will keep the whole group entertained—well, maybe not the groom, since he’ll be strapped to the giant target. 😄
  • Human football table is the one that might leave you with sore muscles—it’s like table football in a pub, except you’re the little figures!

No Matter the Type, Fun Is Guaranteed

Our final words? Don’t forget to have fun. Don’t overthink it. Maybe you can even blend two types together—or throw in an activity from a completely different category just to spice things up.

A stag do doesn’t have to be perfect. It just needs to reflect who you are as a group and bring as much fun as possible. Every stag do is different, and that’s exactly how it should be.

Even just showing the groom that you put thought into choosing the right theme will go a long way. And if you’re unsure or need a bit of guidance, let us know—we’re pros at creating cross-type, everyone-will-love-it kind of stag dos.
