Feel out the vibe
Start by assessing the overall vibe. Are you a bunch of wild ones who’ll likely end up drunk every night? Or do you prefer a more laid-back itinerary—sightseeing, dining at nice restaurants (maybe on the Prague river, Vltava), and possibly squeezing in a bit of culture? That’s your first clue. Now, pick a direction: Will it be a wild stag prank or something classy to surprise your friend?
On the wilder side
1. Funny (and maybe a little embarrassing) costume ideas for the groom
This has probably crossed your mind already—costumes are a fun idea, especially if you get them for the whole group. Remember that if you plan to hit nicer bars or restaurants, they might not let you in wearing a Teletubbies costume or a banana costume. Not even a shark costume will make the cut. We even covered the do’s and don’ts of costumes here. But if you’re not planning on visiting fancier spots, the world’s your oyster. Here are some of our favorites:
- Bride-to-Be Costume – Don’t forget to add bold lipstick to complete the look!
- Superhero in a Tutu – Tutus for the win! Who says you can’t mix two costumes? Grab a superhero costume or a gorilla costume, and dress it up with a fluffy skirt!
- Giant Baby Outfit – Because he’ll be crying from a hangover the next morning. 😀
2. Drinking Games & Accessories
Your stag do weekend is probably going to be all about drinking—duh. But why not make downing beers (we are team Staropramen!) and taking shots even more fun? Dive into the depths of online shopping and check out some of these:
- Beer Helmet – Because who wants to bother holding a glass, right?
- Spin the Dare Wheel – Did the groom refuse the dare? Oh no… here comes a shot!
- Flask Tie or Hidden Booze Belt – Perfect for sneaky sips on the go.
- Glow-in-the-Dark Beer Pong Set – Because glowing beer pong is way better than bare beer pong!
3. Prank & Gag Gifts
You really need to make sure the groom is cool with these gifts. And honestly, that the whole party is, too. Because the last thing you want is an awkward silence when the stag slowly unwraps an inflatable doll…
- Blow-Up Doll ‘Companion’ – Double-check what we said about making the bride angry. 😀
- Fake Tattoo Sleeves – Or, better yet, a temporary tattoo of the bride’s name! Or… a real one?
- Embarrassing Groom Sash – “Future Hubby” or “Mummy’s Boy” always gets a laugh.
- Handcuffs & Ball & Chain Set – A stag do classic! Just don’t lose the key…
- Hangover Survival Kit – Hydration tablets, eye masks, painkillers… and maybe a little “hair of the dog” to keep the party going.
On the cooler side:
1. Decent costumes
It’s pretty awesome when the whole crew matches on a stag do. There’s just something about marching through the streets of Prague with your best lads, letting everyone know you’re the ultimate squad. If you want to stand out—but not too much—these could be your go-tos:
- Personalized Stag Do T-Shirts – “The Hangover Crew” or “Game Over” are the classics. But you can also go with an inside joke.
- Matching Football Jerseys – Customized with nicknames and numbers. No doubt who no. 1 is going to be, right?
- James Bond Theme – Classy suits with sunglasses for a sophisticated look. That will get you all the attention in the clubs!
- Peaky Blinders Gang – Flat caps and waistcoats for a vintage touch, maybe?
2. Personalized & Sentimental Gifts
Maybe you’re thinking of something that will last and forever commemorate the weekend you all spent together. But don’t overthink it—it should still be fun. After all, what else is a stag do about, right?
- Engraved Hip Flask or Beer Mug – Add a funny inside joke or the wedding date.
- Custom Boxers – With the bride’s face printed on them! She’ll definitely appreciate that on the big night.
- Photo Book or Scrapbook – Packed with memories, embarrassing photos, and messages from the whole gang.
- Customized Socks – Featuring the groom’s face or a funny phrase. Or get a pair for everyone and rock them on a night out!
3. A little bit of adventure
This category is our favorite. Why? Because it’s not about physical gifts but about experiences. They all vary in adrenaline levels, but one thing’s for sure—you won’t forget any of them!
- Stag Do Dare Booklet – A list of challenges for the night.
- Sports or Fun Activity – Skydiving, fake bungee jumping, or paintballing.
- Comedy Roast of the Groom – Prepare a list of inside jokes and roast him.
- Driving a Supercar or even a Tank Driving Experience – Let him live the dream before married life.
- Mystery Trip or Surprise Activity – Keep him guessing until the last minute!
These are not a good idea
While we completely understand you want to do something exciting for your friend, it’s easy to go over the edge here. Avoid anything that’s too risky or dangerous—every prank has its limits, and you definitely don’t want to be calling a cab to the hospital. Even something as simple as handcuffing in public can lead to more trouble than you’d expect. You don’t want the Prague police pulling you over and making you explain what’s going on, right?
Oh, and this one’s important too—don’t gift the groom anything that could upset the bride. Yep, we’re talking sexy girl strippers and such. She’ll find out. Count on it. And speaking of upsetting, don’t do anything that would embarrass the groom too much—especially in public. Yep, don’t make him run naked across Wenceslas Square. And if you do, well, we told you so! Last but not least, a no-brainer—anything illegal or too pricey for the group to be comfortable with is off-limits, too.
